As if the New York Jets didn't have enough things to worry about during the 2013-14 season, they now have to worry about Tim Tebow for at least another season as the embattled quarterback has joined the New England Patriots.
According to Ed Werder of ESPN (via Twitter), Tebow has signed on with the Patriots for this upcoming season, landing him right in the AFC East and in the same division as the lowly Jets.
Just filed to ESPN: The Patriots are signing QB Tim Tebow and expect him to be in minicamp tomorrowTebow's role on the Pats isn't known just yet, but considering New England has that Tom Brady guy behind center, there isn't any chance Tebow plays at quarterback unless something catastrophic happens or he gets a snap as a trick-play quarterback.

Instead, Tebow will likely play multiple roles with the team on the offensive end as a receiver and/or running back.
Sound familiar? That was exactly the plan the Jets had for Tebow going into last season before it failed miserably and ended up making even more of a mockery of both Tebow and the Jets organization. Tebow ended up just throwing eight passes the entire season to the tune of 39 yards.
While he was pretty prevalent in the Jets offense early on in his tenure, Tebow was inexplicably buried for the latter parts of the season and was never heard from again despite the fact that quarterback Mark Sanchez was dreadful enough to be replaced.
After things didn't work out last season and he didn't get his fair shake at his desired position, the Jets released Tebow in April of this year and thought they had rid themselves of the constant media sensation surrounding the controversial signal-caller.
It looked as though the Florida product wouldn't even land a job anywhere in the NFL this season but the Pats ended that notion.
Now New York will have to deal with Tebow twice a year as a division rival of New England and the media circus that will come with his return to New York wearing a different uniform. Not to mention, the Jets will have to travel to Gillette Stadium and that's another venture I'm sure New York isn't looking forward to.
All the unwanted questions about Tebow will resurface right into the face of Jets head coach Rex Ryan and it will no doubt cause a headache when the time comes.
What could make matters worse would be if Tebow comes back to haunt the Jets and maybe burns them for a touchdown or two when the two sides meet again. Furthermore, if Tebow makes a lasting impact the entire season for New England, the Jets will look even dumber and more inept than before if the Pats can get out of Tebow what the Jets couldn't or refused to: production.
One has to wonder if just maybe Pats head coach and resident evil genius Bill Belichick has sticking it to the Jets in the back of his head with this move.
In the end, the Pats really have nothing to lose because not even Tebow can overshadow a quarterback like Brady and the Pats won't lose much if this new Tebow experiment fails. What is certain about Tebow's presence on the team is that New England has itself a guy who has no bigger goal in life than to win and he will no doubt work hard to make that happen.
Besides, if there's any coach in this entire league who can bring the best out of Tebow, it's Belichick. And, oh yeah, sitting behind and learning from a Hall of Fame quarterback like Brady couldn't hurt either.
But how sweet it would be for both Tebow and Belichick to stick it to the Jets during the 2013-14 campaign by shoving one of the biggest mistakes the Jets organization has ever made right back down its own throat.
So, while this relationship is really a win-win for Tebow and the Pats, there's nothing but more losing for the Jets and after the way they mistreated Tebow, they deserve everything they get.
